1 — 3D PRINT THE COASTERS

Print the coaster models directly with your compatible 3D printer.

The basic workflow is:

PRINT → ASSEMBLE MOLD SYSTEM → POUR SILICONE → DEMOLD → CAST

Once you create the silicone mold, you can use it repeatedly with compatible casting materials.

GREAT FOR SMALL-BATCH PRODUCTION

For makers who sell physical decor, the included mold-making system offers another production option.

Create your master and mold system once, produce your silicone mold, and then use suitable casting materials to create additional physical pieces.

Actual mold life and casting results depend on your silicone type, casting material, release system and production process.

3D PRINTING NOTES

A useful starting point for many FDM printers:

• 0.4 mm nozzle
• 0.16–0.20 mm layer height
• PLA or another rigid filament for mold housing components
• Adjust supports and orientation according to your printer and slicer

For mold-making masters, smoother surfaces generally produce cleaner silicone molds.

Before pouring silicone, consider sanding visible print lines and using a fully cured silicone-compatible surface sealer if required.

Always test material compatibility first.

SCALING

The coaster designs may be resized in your slicer.

If resizing the mold system, all matching mold components must be scaled by exactly the same percentage.

Do not resize only one mold component.

IMPORTANT MATERIAL NOTE

Traditional ceramic slip casting normally uses absorbent plaster molds rather than ordinary silicone molds.

The silicone mold system is intended for compatible casting materials such as resin, plaster, stone-powder compounds and concrete-style casting systems.

Always follow the instructions provided by your silicone and casting-material manufacturer.
